PATHOLOGIES
ANKYLOSING SPONDYLITIS
Ankylosing Spondylitis is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting the sacroiliac joints, lumbar, dorsal and cervical spine, and tendon insertions.
The disease leads to ossification of tendon insertions (bamboo collar appearance) and limited joint amplitude.
Ankylosing spondylitis sometimes involves the eyes, heart and lungs.
It may also be associated with inflammatory bowel disease, such as Crohn's disease or RCUH (for Recto Colic Ulcer Hemorrhagic).
There are other types of ankylosing spondylitis, such as SAPHO syndrome (Synovitis, Acne, Pustulosis, Hyperostosis, Osteitis).
